“I never would have thought that a small inexpensive electric heater can generate such a big happiness within a family” said Marleine Nasrany, NCF volunteer, gone to deliver an in-kind donation to a sister and her brother, both paraplegic and supported by their mother of 90 years old. “It is a blessing to be part of this project that I do to glorify the name of the Lord” she says. Indeed, we can do so much with so little and this is the heart of the HOPE project which aims at helping needy families with non-financial donations based on small amounts of money allocated to a different family each month.
Within this line, NCF is teaming up with church-based organizations to locate needy families and unfortunately they are many. They need clothes, medication, and support towards their children school fees and have urgent needs such as a safe bathroom, a bed, or a cover. (The picture attached portrays a bathroom used by an old lady of 70 years old that NCF took the initiative of replacing).
The NCF volunteers are performing needs assessment visits and identifying urgent needs through several visits and thanks to them this newly launched project has been able to help 20 families and an orphanage of 30 children by providing in-kind donations such as electric heaters, toilet replacement, fridge, oven and a scholarship aid.
